Growing up, these places were an incredibly huge part of my life. Good memories. No, GREAT memories. It was not mainly “the food” at these places that made them so important. It was something else.
Walking down to .. hanging out at The Tasty Freeze was something to do with friends.
Going to J & J’s was a great place to go for good food. It was also a great place to go to feel comfortable .. to feel special. Junior and Joyce ALWAYS made you feel special! Both examples of how we should be as humans.
Bubba’s Bagels … amazing food! It was a great place to gather with friends. In a sense, it was like “Cheers” … where everybody knows your name. It was a place for people to gather to play games, talk, laugh, play music, be a community.
Davis-Kidd … It was a place for the whole family to go and chill. They had a great selection books and other media. They had a café where you could enjoy freshly prepared meals. AMAZING Fruit Tea was served. This was also a great place to gather with friends, hang out, chill.
Why am I pointing these places out?
These were places to be with people .. like-minded people I suppose .. people to interact with in ways that did NOT involve hate-filled arguing or finger pointing. Emotions where shared and felt .. in person. People got to know people, as people, as the varied group of individuals they are.
